6N1P Balanced Gold tube Set

The Gold Set includes five (5) NOS (new old stock) tubes. They are Tested and Section Matched. In addition because the Cathode Follower stage pushes a wee bit of current, the 6N6P is current matched (mA).

What can you expect from the Gold Set? Well you get the tubes the Balanced Preamp was designed around. You get three NOS (New Old Stock) Voskhod “Rocket” 6N1P-EV tubes for the V1 / V2 / V3 slots.

For V4 / V5, we’re using the NEVZ 6N6P, which is probably “The Best” unknown vintage tube, it does a great job no matter what the circuit is that we plug it into. But if it does one thing extremely well, it’s probably as a Cathode Follower. The reason is, the current pushing capability of this tube far exceeds the demands of circuit – and you can instantly hear the sonic improvements, particularly in the lower frequences.
